Thing 23 The End

This has been a fun and interesting journey, definitely worth my time since I understand much more about Web 2.0 tools, rather than just recognizing their names. To answer some of the questions:

What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? Flckr and del.ici.ous. I really like del.ici.ous, I can organize and retrieve sites in the way that makes sense to me.

How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? It gave me more options in chronicling my lifelong learning, ideas for ways to better communicate with family, friends, and co-workers.

Were there any take-aways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you? Some tasks were fun, some were useful, others were not useful (at least right now).

If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate? Yes.

Thank you for offering this to staff, and I look forward to seeing these tools incorporated into LCPL's services.

Thing 22 Audiobooks

I already have a NetLibrary account, so I looked at several categories of downloadable audiobooks. I am a history/historical fiction fan, so when I get my MP3 player I'll check out some of those.

Thing 21 Podcasts

I looked at several lists, didn't see anything of great interest right now. Not much time to play with this, maybe later.

Thing 20 YouTube

I knew what YouTube was from my kids showing various videos they found entertaining. I like the "Betty Glover Library Workout Tape Ad" one, always fun to laugh at ourselves. I can see YouTube being useful for library work, perhaps as an instructional tool, or a way to show kids having fun at programs.

Thing 19 Web 2.0 Awards

I took a quick look around, and then zeroed in on the Retail winners. Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/index.php)is great, all kinds of listings for unique and quirky items, most look to be handmade. I don't know that this one would be useful in a library setting, but it's fun to look through to find the perfect gift for that quirky person in your life.

Thing 18 Web-based Apps

I can see how Zoho could be very useful for anyone who travels for their job or who works at an office and at home, easy to keep everything together. The Writer toolbar is cool, and I really like the templates.

Thing 17 - PBWiki

This one took me a while, but I finally added my blog to the list and posted a couple of favorites in Animals and Music. I don't see much use for this personally, but it others might find it helpful.
